We are home and loving our family of 3!

Thank you for being patient with us as we get updated with our emails, phone calls, and text messages what a wonderful week we have had!
Rhys is now 6 days old and so much fun!  I will try to post some pictures of him tonight.  After 6 days in the hospital we got to come home on Christmas day and experience the joy of our son with no doctors or nurses to come in and check on us every hour or what seemed like every 5 minutes!
Rhys had his first "well baby" check in with our pediatrician this afternoon and at only 6 days old is back at his birth weight-so wonderful!  He is definitely eating well and sleeping good.
We are looking forward to introducing each of you to him and welcome visitors for short visits this week while Ryan is still home.  Please call Ryan first.

Thank you for all the prayers, love and support we are thrilled!

39 Weeks and still Kickin!

Email #7: December 13th, 2010!

39 Weeks!  Wow...I really can't believe it has been so long since we last updated everyone!

So we had our 39 week check in today and were hoping for some news on when we might meet our little guy...but no such luck.

Rhys seems to be growing wildly (measuring 42 weeks) and not in any kind of position to come out anytime soon or at least from what we can tell.  I am not dilated at all and my cervix is tight/hard and closed.  The doctor has tried to dilate me with no success.  So it looks like we will wait another week to see when he might join our family!

Our next appt. up in Beaverton at St. Vincent (where we will deliver) is next Monday-my due date-December 20th.  They cannot medically induce me until 41 weeks (Dec. 27th) unless I am dilated or have some sort of complication (poor lab results/high blood pressure).  So looks like little Rhys is going to bake in there awhile longer...

Ryan and I have been plenty busy the last 10 weeks with Beaver Football and Basketball and getting things in our new home unpacked and organized.  We have also been getting everything ready for when Rhys joins us!

We will send out a Christmas/New Year card/letter once he gets here!

Until then please visit our blog for updates and visit mealbaby.com to sign up to bring us food when we have Rhys! :)

Thank you for all the love and support through the last year...it has been so wonderful and we feel overwhelmed by all of our many blessings!

37 Weeks & Counting!

So it has been awhile...we have both been swamped but wanted to put out a little update for everyone!

Today was our 37 week check-in and all is good!  Rhys is measuring 40 weeks...so either he is huge or I have a big uterus...could be both!  Everything is going great and I have been feeling pretty great.  It is getting harder to do things like get out of bed and off the couch :) but overall I'm very blessed to be healthy!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving...my first home in a long time.  I sent the MBB team on their way to DC bright and early Thursday morning and enjoyed some great time with both sides of the family!  Ryan went on the traditional "Duck hunting" adventure with the men in his family and I headed out to Eagle Creek to see my mom's sister and her family and Grandpa!  We also got to see some of the Colbert family on Friday night.

Black Friday: well...lets just say I was up at 2am 2 nights in a row!  We headed to Target to get a 46 inch flat screen...we got to Target 1.5 hours before they opened and were still the 500th people in line!  They actually sold out of the TV we wanted before we even got in line...but we got a pretty good deal on another...

We actually shopped until 10am that morning...I even puked in the parking lot at Lowes!  Then we slept at home for a bit and headed back out that night until returning home at 11pm!  What a long couple of days!  We got a sweet new rocker from Toys R Us for our family room-recliner style and another sweet rocker today from Ryan's Aunt & Uncle-glider style!  Very thankful for having so many nice things for Rhys!

Next Dr. appt. is next Tuesday so stay tuned...doesn't look like much will happen between now and then...but you never know!

Have a great week!

Happy Halloween!

This week has been super busy for us!  Ryan worked until 3am last night on the crib for the baby and I'm so excited to post some pictures of his progress!  The last two nights he has been working in the wood shop late so I have barely seen him.  I'm so excited for the crib-it is looking great!  I went over to Grandpa & Grandma Kutsch's last night and helped grandma sew more baby blankets and burp rags-super fun!  I will try to take some pictures of those too!  Dana (Ryan's mom) is going to come over next week and paint the baby's room and then hopefully the crib will be done soon and then I can start decorating and getting everything all organized-super excited.  Tomorrow night we are heading over to Carson & Hayley's for a fun Halloween and birthday party and Saturday is the BEAVER GAME!  GO BEAVS!!!  Sunday I'm excited for brunch with the ladies of our office (all the spouses) and then working on the house and unpacking some more...my mom also flies in on Sunday night for 2 whole weeks!  We are stoked to be in a fun neighborhood where we should have lots of tricker treaters :).  Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

Growing! Almost 8 months!!!

I can't believe how soon Rhys will be joining our family in our new home!  It is really exciting and we are trying to get ready for him!  Ryan celebrated his 27th birthday yesterday and we had so much fun sharing in his day with lots of friends and family.  We spent the weekend in Seattle visiting my college roommate and her family who were visiting from North Carolina...we only see them about once a year :(.  We spent all day Saturday with Derek, Joni, Aiden & Shawn (4 years old...almost) and Hailey (18 months...almost) it was so great to see them!  We went to this great Pumpkin Patch where there were rides, food, pumpkins, restaurants and all kinds of entertainment, they even had a petting zoo!  It was like Disneyland :).  The kids all fell asleep on the way home...along with pregnant Jaimee and then we headed to the Barry's to watch the Beaver game and enjoy some delicious food!  Sunday Ryan woke up to room service in our hotel for his birthday and then we got up and going to get to Cabella's for a little birthday shopping fun as well as the Nike Employee store where Ryan tried to update his shoe closet...not quite up to the level of Jaimee's shoes!  We also got a bunch of Christmas presents so I am feeling really accomplished in that department!  We then headed to the new house in West Salem where Ryan was greeted by all his family surprising him to celebrate the big day of BIRTH!  We had a delicious meal that Dana (Ryan's mom) prepared and some really tasty treats for desert!  Ryan was spoiled by many gifts and I even got a couple for baby Rhys!  We are really starting to collect a lot of baby stuff for him so he is already one lucky guy and so very blessed!  I'm hoping to buy paint this week so we can start preparing the nursery...should be tons of fun!  At our 30 week appointment last week he was still measuring about 4 weeks big so he might be joining us a little earlier then expected!  Anyway we are getting so excited to meet Rhys and can't wait to welcome him into a world so full of love and to so many wonderful friends and family!  We are feeling very blessed!

New Blog Created!

Thanks for checking out our blog!

The title came to me last night when I noticed that our soon-to-be-born son is really having a great time kicking in there!  This blog is going to be about Ryan and I and little Rhys Braun Kirkpatrick and anything else fun we can think of to share with our friends and family.  I wanted to create the blog so people near and especially far can see what we are up to as newly weds and new parents!

Hope you guys enjoy and I will try to be good about posting when I can!
